I remember thinking the night before I took this photo if it was worth getting up in the wee hours of the morning for a sunrise shoot. A pending hangover from the night’s drinking session isn’t helping at all too. I don’t recall seeing any foregrounds to anchor my shot at Baler’s Sabang Beach, so I can’t really see the point of shooting the next morning.
A few hours later, my alarm buzzed and I immediately got up. In my sleep, I’ve thought of the perfect foreground. Baler is known for its massive surfer waves, right? So I thought, why not use that as anchors to my images?
So there I was as the dawn for daylight; fighting a small hangover, wet as a puppy, waves crashing on my legs, endlessly clicking the shutter of my camera until I got my Baler waves right.
