I always prefer shooting bodies of water with an ND filter to smoothen it out and have that misty effect. And so I did the same while on the sandbars of Manjuyod; I walked down from one of the huts and started snapping long exposures with my tripod and ND filter on.
The outputs were okay. But once back in the hut, I tried to remove the ND and screwed on a CPL filter just to see what it would look like. Interestingly, I got a far better result. I’m guessing the texture of the translucent waters streaming along over the white sands provided a more interesting foreground to the huts and the mountains on the horizon.
Lovely sandbar! :)
