There have been a number of times when I did double-takes on images I submitted for photo contests. After the results have been tallied and my entries were left biting the dust, I look back and thought about the other photos that I passed over in favor of my chosen ones. I’m left wondering; would I’ve won if I had picked another? The debate in my mind goes on and on.

The photo above is a case in point. I submitted a different version of this photograph taken a few hours after this with a warmer tone (see related post). Would it have made a difference if I had picked this one? I was quite torn which one to choose.

There were times that my decision to submit a particular photograph was swayed by an outside opinion, but I guess in the end, it was still me who decides what photograph to push as a competition entry. And as contest rules say, all decisions are final. If we don’t win, move on, we shall.

  1. this photo still looks cool. it all depends on the judges' taste and who the judges are as well as what the competitors' photographs look like.
