En route to the Netherlands; the first and up to now, only country I’ve been to outside the Philippines, a little Filipino girl suddenly sat next to me halfway through the flight, I asked her where her parents were and I was astounded by her answer, she’s traveling alone! From the Philippines to Europe, alone! Un-freaking-believable.
According to her, she’d be meeting her aunt at the airport and then would be proceeding to Germany.
I know of solo travelers roaming the world, but to be traveling for so many miles at such a young age is just astounding. I admire the confidence of this kid, at her age I wasn’t even allowed to ride a jeepney to the next corner by myself.
And for those still wanting that dream assignment to Toulouse, France, the DPP-KLM On Assignment has been extended for one more week. Good news for those who are still in the process of creating their entries. If you think you have what it takes to out-pitch and out-write the other fellas joining this contest, then send your entry at the On Assignment website.
