P O S T - P R O C E S S I N G  N O T E S : CURVES, BRACKETTED EXPOSURE ON THE ARTSCIENCE BUILDING

I envisioned only one thing when I got the news that I was going to Singapore; a night shot of the lighted buildings across Marina Bay. I want the Helix Bridge to be there, I want the lotus-like structure of the ArtScience Museum to be present and I want the gigantic three-towered structure of the Marina Bay Sands to be in the center of the frame.

In my mind, the picture is set just after the sun had retired and the sky has turned into electric blue, the Marina Bay Sands sending out lasers of blue and green lights across the sky and the Helix Bridge swirling with lights.

Unfortunately, we were unable to reach the place in time for the blue hour. The sky was already too dark, the Marina Bay Sands light show was already over and I almost didn’t even get to photograph the Helix Bridge with its lights on. I got exactly four shots and the lights on the bridge were shut down for the night.

But beggars can’t be choosers. I’m still glad I got to the place at night and got a photograph that was almost what I had in mind. Better than nothing, right?
