The waves exploded against rocks and warm yellow clouds ran across the blue horizon. I was in Catanduanes and the view at Puraran was a landscape photographer’s wet dream. I planted my tripod along the rocks protruding towards the sea, composed my photograph, screwed in my neutral density filter and dialed my settings.

I clicked the shutter and the waves slammed it.

Shooting seascapes is quite perilous to cameras, but scenes just like these sometimes make it worth risking.
