The possibilites of a 20x lens are endless.  My Canon S3is, an old model now, has a 12x optical zoom.  Buying a 1.7x teleconversion lens brought the camera to a bit more than 20x.  I’m really not sure how to convert this to 35mm equivalent, but it zooms really really far.  Far enough for big birds in zoos, but apparently not far enough for small birds in natural habitats. Oh well, not bad at all.
