Taken during the heyday of protests against former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The city mayor of Makati City, being an ardent critic of the president’s administration allow rallies almost every week at the central business district of the city. For photographers, this means a more secure rally site, Makati being what it is. It was the first time I documented a mass protest and to say that it was exhilarating is an intense understatement.
