Less than a month after buying my first camera, I joined a photo contest sponsored by my previous company. It was the tenth year of Sykes Asia in the Philippines and they were looking for photos that would convey the company’s success in the country.
I was thinking of a baby holding out all ten fingers in front of a camera but cannot find a child to shoot. I then came up with the idea of shooting ten centavo coins which would both signify the company’s decade long service and how it worked from a small-staffed environ to the giant that it is now; I titled it “From Small Things Occur A Larger Perspective”.
You can imagine my surprise when my photo landed as 3rd Runner up. My camera earned me back a few thousands of pesos just a few days after purchase and I am definitely a happy camper.
