I used to hang out at the small park in our barangay. The whole place is shaded by huge old trees with lots of kids playing under them. It was the perfect place to practice photographing people and with my superzoom point and shoot back then, being shy about approaching subjects and asking for a go-ahead to photograph them was not a problem.

Some shooters prefer asking permission and engaging the subjects before releasing the shutter and some use their telephotos to take images from afar. When I was just starting out, I was of the telephoto school but I gradually became the talk first before shooting as time went on.

I’m really unsure which of the two is better, so I guess bringing both a wide angle and a telephoto lens with you at all times would be the best.
