Last night the moon was supposed to turn blue. Unfortunately the sky over Legazpi City was very cloudy and our hope of having a glimpse of this rare phenomenon seemed unclear. The sky was still very cloudy as we left the city’s boulevard after tripping on local street food. We transferred to the posh Embarcadero just to have a look. The moon was peeping in and out of the heavy clouds overhead as we traded jokes near the water’s edge.
10PM arrived, the supposed time for the spectacle. Alas, we craned our necks to no end but the moon didn’t turn blue.
After a bit of research, I found that the moon does not literally turn blue during a blue moon. It just means that it is the second full moon in a single month. Next time, I guess we should read up about astronomical phenomena before making a fool of ourselves haha.
